The shooting occurred at around 12:30 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a man with a gun. When officers arrived on the scene, they encountered the man, who was armed with a handgun. The man fired at the officers, striking one of them. The officers returned fire, striking the man.

Both the man and the officer were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. The man is in critical condition, and the officer is in stable condition.
